he Cardinals snapped the Pirates’ modest two-game winning streak by taking the opener of their three-game weekend series.  St. Louis starter Lance Lynn improved to 3-0 on the year after limiting Pittsburgh to one run on four hits while fanning four over seven strong innings. Lynn’s only mistake was left fielder Alex Presley’s first inning inside-the-park home run, which ended up being the Pirates only bright spot on the day. Pittsburgh hurler Charlie Morton surrendered two runs, one earned on four hits in defeat as the Cards upended the Pirates 4-1. The series continues Saturday when Kevin Correia gets the starting nod for Pittsburgh while Jake Westbrook goes for St. Louis.
