AJ Allmendinger claimed the pole for Sunday's STP 400 with a top speed just shy of 176 miles per hour. AJ whipped around Kansas Speedway in a little over thirty-and-a-half seconds. Allmendinger won his second career pole and his first since joining Penske Racing. Allmendinger's other pole came at Phoenix in 2010.
